Vintage One Of a Kind 1930s Silk Lace Keyhole Back With Full Train

Absolutely stunning 1930s or 1940s silk and lace trimmed long train (bustled) wedding dress. Size 4/6 and hemmed pretty short so please see measurements! 14-14.5” waist and 58” long in the front from Shoulder-to-hem. Extremely light, airy and thin. This was purchased in incomplete condition and altered by a seamstress in Northern New Jersey specializing in vintage wedding dress alternations. The modified slip is included with the dress. It has an open back, tulle at the bottom to give the dress some width at the bottom, and multiple snaps that secure it into the dress. All of the dress is original, except for the cap sleeves and keyhole back. We also added the embroidery/appliqué in the middle of the chest and a bustle for the train. My seamstress had the embroidery on-hand and said she took it off a vintage dress, but I don't have much more information than that.

The back originally buttoned all-the-way up, but I wanted something open and we didn't have all the original buttons. I do have several of the original lace-netted buttons (although they aren’t all in the best shape, some net is torn and some is stained), but we did keep all the button loops in place along one edge of the keyhold in case the next wearer wanted it button-ed back up!  The dress was not cleaned, so it will need a proper cleaning and will need a new clasp or button added at the top of the neck/keyhole in the back. There are a few areas of very faint yellowing, but nothing that I don’t think can be reversed. Two tiny holes in the train, please see close-ups!
